About Mike

I was born in Toronto and grew up in a Disney family. My first trip to a Disney Park was to Disneyland Resort in California in 1966 (yes, that's me in the photo on the left at Disneyland in 1966 with one of the three little pigs). Our first trip to Walt Disney World was in March 1972 (just a few short months after it opened in October 1971), and since then I have spent over 75 weeks (and counting) at Walt Disney World Resorts.

For the first 13 years in a row (1972 to 1985), we would spend two to four weeks each spring staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Vacationing on a Disney property for a month each year really helps you get to know all about the operation and the parks. Back then, Walt Disney World consisted of the Magic Kingdom, the Disney's Polynesian Village, Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. That was it. Needless to say a lot has changed since then and I have witnessed that growth and change taking place each year for the past 40 years.

Nowadays we visit three to four times per year and typically stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Polynesian Resort, although we do mix it up with other resorts to keep a broad perspective. Now, we are also members of Disney Vacation Club and take vacations to Disneyland, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Aulani in Hawaii and more. I have watched Disney grow and change a great deal since those initial days in the early 70s and much of that knowledge is available through this site or my Twitter feed (@mikebelobradic). In addition, I am a Disney Travel Advisor where I bring my 40+ years of Disney travel experience to help my clients make the most of their magical Disney vacations. This site is dedicated to Disney adventures and offers a few insights to the changes I have witnessed over the years and my opinions on a number of Disney-related questions and topics. My goal is to share information and advice with other Disney World visitors to help you make the most of your stay at Walt Disney World Resort.

What is your favorite Walt Disney World resort?

While we do have our favorite Disney World Resort properties, we are fortunate to visit WDW enough that we can spend time staying at various different Disney resort locations. This gives us a great insight into the pros and cons of each property and their levels of service. This includes comparing restaurants, pools and other amenities at each hotel.
